The VIA Furnishing Programme award invites a guest designer or interior architect to create a specific project with an eye to overall harmony, the idea being that this will generate an original composition with objects and furniture that are coherent with space. The creator’s approach must reflect the new life styles and evolving body postures of contemporary people in terms of ergonomics and ease of circulation. As well, the interplay of component pieces designed for the living space under consideration must suggest innovative solutions in interior layout. New materials or manufacturing processes may also be used to improve comfort and amenity. The Furnishing Programme award extrapolates the French touch in decorative arts, which is renowned the world over.
Coordination: Michel Bouisson head of Creation Assistance & relations with schools.
