Cyrille Azais was born in Paris in 1963, and graduated from the Ecole Camondo in 1990. Prior to this he had already studied sculpture at the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris after doing a scientific course in biology, bio-chemistry, physics and chemistry at Creteil university.
With this atypical background in hand, he directed his talents towards interior and ephemeral architecture, using commercial and business spaces as communication supports. Azais sees the space of our environments as fields for experimentation. He uses textures, materials and light as a palette to tell stories, itineraries, or dreams...
His work as art director for SEPHORA reflects this state of mind while integrating the values and concepts of the firm.
In 1999 he turned resolutely towards environment design - expounding by means of a sensorial approach the effective potential of technology transfers.
His quest for new technologies and sensitive industrial materials puts people at the heart of conceptual, poetic and formal research. In expressing the function of funriture via the senses, his creations are not just ordinary objects but mutant, interactive, autonomous and changing designs inspirited with the illusion of life.
