Nestor Perkal is a qualified architect who works in design and interior architecture.
In the early 80s he opened a studio/gallery in Paris where he presented for the first time in France the Memphis group from Milan.
Art director for the Algorithme jewellery firm from 1987 to 1994, he developed an important collection in which he produced the first objects created by young designers like Christophe Pillet and Pierre Charpin.
Commissioner for exhibitions, teacher, participant in many juries and seminars, in 1991 he was appointed assignment head by the Ministry of Culture to set up the Centre de Recherches sur les Arts du Feu et de la Terre (CRAFT) in Limoges. He has directed the centre since 1993, developing a policy of inviting guest artists and designers to work on projects in ceramics. The CRAFT mediates between the worlds of art and industry.
