’Dance is a sculpture in space’.
Françoise Abraham has been dancing since the age of six, but the little dancer soon took an interest in costumes, cutting and sewing to invent her own clothes. Her curiosity pushed her even further to research form. Imperceptibly she moved from costume to décor, before launching into design. Her creations, which were first acclaimed by professionals, have also met with success in the general public. In 1993 she discovered marble, its fineness and hardness, its demands and the rigour and precision of gesture it demands... She plunged headlong into this new passion and today she is presenting her first works in this material.
