A self-taught designer, my work is comparable in practice to that of the bespoke boot maker I started out as. I have an anachronic taste for hidden detail, for highly specific commissions. But I also like to make lasting systems that can be reproduced. I am particularly impressed by the approach and spirit of designers like Yonel Lebovici, Carlo Molino and Jean Prouvé. For me, there is nothing more poetic than certain pieces conserved at the Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers, where you can see in all its nakedness the pencil of the engineer at work, inspired by a belief in utopia and technique.
