Born in Algiers in 1962, Yahïa Ouled-Moussa moved to Lyons with his family at the age of 4. When he came of age he moved to Paris where he worked in different jobs before beginning to study interior architecture. It was then that he experienced a revelation: design…

Designing furniture without knowing much about techniques led him into contact with a cabinet-maker specialized in restoring period furniture. The richness of classic French and Italian 17th and 18th century design, and the ingenious and subtle qualities of Chinese pieces confirmed his interest in furniture, especially chairs. After two years of study he began making his first prototypes while designing furniture for private clients.

His sources of inspiration lie in travel, his broad knowledge of 20th century design and his interest in all art forms.

His marked predilection for sculpture is visible in his founding of the ‘Freaks’ tribe.
