Since 1969 Richard Peduzzi has designed the sets for all of Patrice Chéreau’s productions whether they be for theatre, opera or cinema. He has also created décors for productions by Luc Bondy: Shakespeare’s Le conte d’hiver, Schnitzler’s Le Chemin solitaire at the Berlin Schaubühne, Die Zeit und das Zimmer by Botho Strauss, and Les Noces de Figaro for the Salzburg festival in 1995. He has done a lot of work for museums, such as the Degas, Gauguin, Titian and "Impressionisme-Les Origines" exhibitions at the Grand Palais (1988, 1989, 1993, 1994), the Opera and Architecture rooms at the Musée d’Orsay and the ’History of the Louvre’ rooms at the Grand Louvre, 1989. At the Opéra Garnier he was in charge of restoration, interior architecture and design for the library and museum. In 1988, Jean Coural, head of the Mobilier National, commissioned him to design contemporary furniture. He was visting professor at the École Spéciale d’Architecture in 1987 (courses on scenography for Tristan et Yseult) and was
appointed director of the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs by the Ministry of Culture in 1990. Distinguished as Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur in 1995. Silver medal from the Fondation de l’Académie d’Architecture in 1998.
