After graduating from the School of Fine Arts of Dijon in 1986, Fabrice Berrux made his début in interior architecture. The following year he founded the 18 Août group with Pascal Oriol and Bruno Moretti. From the outset, 18 Août aimed at designing, producing and marketing sensitive and playful objects that referred to art, such as the FLOWER vase which saluted Andy Warhol, or the CHAUD-FROID dish support inspired by Land Art.

The group showed their work regularly in professional salons and at major events, including "30 under 3o" in New York in 1989 and "Capitales Européennes du Nouveau Design" at the Pompidou Centre in Paris in 1991.

In 1991 Fabrice Berrux set up Dix Heures Dix, a company which enlarged and reorganised the production of the 18 Août group.

In 1994 he had a show at the VIA gallery in Paris. As early as 1990, certain products were added to the collection of the Musée des Arts décoratifs in Paris and went on sale in boutiques in modern art museums in Rotterdam, Dallas, Los Angeles, Chicago and Paris (Pompidou Centre).

From 1990 to 1994, Berrux lectured at schools in Dijon, Limoges and Rheims and at the Académie Charpentier in Paris.

Fabrice Berrux’s recent work includes lamps in folded paper, silk-screen printed glass, altuglass and chipboard, all of which shed beautiful light...
