My itinerary moves between creation and management and a such is atypical. In the course of my professional experiences, I have come to focus on furniture design and decoration. After I did IFM, I worked in Visual Merchandising for Chez Chloe doing window displays, presentation supports and fit-outs. In 2007 I was put in charge of Merchandising for A.P.C. but also kept on designing furniture. I set up Lab. and produced my own collection of home furniture and accessories.
Lab. draws inspiration from French design from the 1950s and from Droog Design, with a rustic note for good measure. My furniture designs are made for an urban context: modest dimensions, practicality (including dissociated materials to facilitate recycling or changing of textile covers according to whims), and modularity, as in the many and varied functions of a sofa. The collection is made locally to demand, which avoids having stock on hand and saves energy and materials. All the raw materials are of French origin: timber, feathers and certain fabrics, which are surplus from fashion labels. This approach is eco-friendly as well as economical, the idea being to valorize the object by its history and its fabrication, thus improving its chances to be kept longer.
