Marine Peyre, New Flexible Design

After setting up Cooked in Marseille in 1998, Marine Peyre scored a hit on the design scene in 2001 with a series of coloured silicone objects distributed by Sketch in London and the boutique of the MoMa in New York – pieces that gave material presence to the most intimate realities (Enjoy! in 2004 Love to Love edition)... The philosophy of Marine Peyre has taken definite shape, describing a playful, sensual and pop world that proceeds by plays on multiple insertion/imbrication and modularity, the offset use of materials, expressive, colourful forms, and nonchalant attitudes, and crossing borders between art, space layout and design...
Since 2005, Marine Peyre has diversified her fields of experimentation to architectural space and scenography/event design, and has collaborated with producers to create objects and furniture (Pantone Universe, FlowerBox, Urbastyle, Love to Love), and with other creators working in art, fashion and contemporary dance (Fred Sathal, Fred Rubin, Michel Vivien, Katharina Christl, Ballet National de Marseille...).
Extending her research in design and space layout, she has created a range of modular seats for domestic and public use, of which the B.FLEX system is a prime example.
Marine Peyre studied architecture and qualified at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Marseille. She conducts a design workshop at the Ecole d’Architecture de Marseille Luminy since 2007.
