industrial designer, scenographer

Born in 1973 in Lausanne, of Luxembourgean nationality, Dunja Weber graduates as an Industrial Designer in 1998 having completed her studies at the Schule für Gestaltung in Zürich and the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. She first comes into contact with Italy in 1997 when she wins with her product "Sitting Bull" an internship with Cassina, since then she has transfered to Milan where she lives and works.

In Milan she collaborates initially with the Industrial Designers Marco Ferreri and Stefano Giovannoni and since 1999 with James Irvine. Here she contributes to the development of many products in the fields of household goods and table ware, furniture & lighting appliances, electric appliances, public furniture and exhibitions for companies like Artemide, Arabia, B&B, Canon, Coro, Covo, Danese, Domus, Ikea, Magis, Muji, LG, Olivari, Phaidon, Ströer, Swedese, Thonet, WMF, Zumtobel. From 2004 she follows with James Irvine and Alberto Meda the development of a line of multifunction printers for Olivetti.

During the same period, but independendly from the office of James Irvine, she teaches at the Politecnico di Milano (2004), participates in a programm organized by Frères des Hommes collaborating with Senegalese craftsmen (2005) and since 2004 designs the fair stands for Maxdesign. She participates at the exhibitions "Colours" organized at the Arengario di Milano by Massimo Costa (2002), "Spin-off" organized by the Cologne Fair - IMM (2003), "Tipi Italiani" organized by Design Italia in Milano (2003), and "In dust we trust" organized by One-Off in Milano (2004) and with her own stand at the "Green House" during the Stockholm furniture fair (2003).

During the Milan furniture fair 2007 the company Maxdesign presents her first independent product, the lounge chair "June". In September 2007 she opens her own studio...
