In 1995 Rock Galpin, product designer, set up Studio Orange a product design studio specialising in three dimensional design. The studio, set up and run by designer Rock Galpin has undertaken a broad range of products from furniture and lighting designs for Studio Orange, Furniture and Interior project commissions, to producing designs for international furniture and product manufacturers. The studio has also undertaken exhibition and branding projects and exhibited in over 30 exhibitions internationally, which include; Milan, Cologne, New York, Japan and Hong Kong.

Clients have included: Aram Designs, Designers Guild, Bailey’s, Bartle Bogle & Hergerty, Heal’s, Hille, Authentics ltd, Bacardi Global Brands , The British Council, E&Y Co-Tokyo, Hille, Heals, Idée-Tokyo, Ogilvy & Mather , Planet 24, Saatchi & Saatchi, CAA, BDG MCColl, The London Institute/The University of the Arts London, Poke, Erasmus and Monkey Kingdom, The Office Group, Covo

1995 Studio Orange was founded Shoreditch, London.
Studio Orange, set up by designer Rock Galpin, was aimed at designing and producing a range of own brand furniture & Product designs. The company exhibited products all over the world in International Furniture Fairs, such as Cologne 1992,1995 ; New York 1994,1995, 2000 Taiwan 1999 and Milan, Salone del Mobile/Solo satelite show 1998, 1999; Designers Block- Idée, Tokyo 2000, 2001, Hong Kong 2005 and in the U.K. such as The Laurent Perrier Design Award 2005,100% Design 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2004; Interior Design International 1992,1993; Designers Block (London) 2003, Design UK (London) 2003,2004; Totem -New York 2001 and at the Business Design Centre on numerous occasions.

2005 Rock Galpin rebranded under his own name, Rock Galpin Studio (Rock Galpin Ltd)
Rock Galpin expansion of work develops in the area of furniture design and branding and expands further into household product design and consumer electronics.


COMPETITIONS

*winner of The Laurent Perrier Design Award 2005 for the Easy lounge chair and Sketch Modular Sofa System for Designer’s Guild.
*The Ness Design Award 1999 for a lounge chair. Consequently highly commended as one of eight finalists.
*The Ness Design Award 1998 for a hotel/leisure seat/sofa. Consequently highly commended as one of five finalists to be exhibited at The Royal Festival Hall.
*The Ness Design Award 1997 for a cafe/bistro chair. Consequently highly commended as one of four finalists to be exhibited at The Royal Festival Hall.
