Industrial + Interior design

Torsten Neeland was born in Hamburg in 1963. Between 1984-1990, he studied Industrial Design at the College of Fine Arts in Hamburg, moving to London in 1967 where he now lives, working as an industrial and interior designer.

He has curated several exhibitions, the most recent of which was “Edges, Bathroom Modules”, where Torsten brought together the internationally renowned architects David Adjaye, Edward Barber, Jay Osgerby and Claudio Silvestrin, to develop their ideas for “the bathroom of the future”.

Torsten’s career spans over fifteen years, and his work ranges form private interior design and retail outlets, to product design and large-scale exhibition spaces. His work has been widely published in both the national and international press (including Elle Deco, Wallpaper, Frame, Domus) and has been featured in several interior and design books.

Torsten has won several prestigious international design awards during his career. His designs for the Carte Blanche breakfast set are now part of the Victoria & Albert Museum’s permanent collection.
