Alberto Lievore, Jeannette Altherr and Manel Molina founded the company in 1991.


ALBERTO LIEVORE
(Buenos Aires, 1948)

Studied architecture at the Buenos Aires Faculty of Architecture, Argentina.
At the same time, he worked as an interior designer, which led him towards the world of production design. In 1972, he created Hipótesis, a furniture showroom/shop with its own workshops, which received widespread local recognition. After moving to Barcelona, he created, together with Norberto Chaves, the Grupo Berenguer, later to be joined by Jorge Pensi and Oriol Pibernat.
In 1984, he founded his own design studio, focused on product design, consultancy and art direction work for a number of companies.


JEANNETTE ALTHERR
(Heidelberg, 1965)

Studied Industrial Design in Darmstadt, Germany, and in Barcelona. Has worked with Alberto Lievore since 1989.
She worked on her own account as a stylist for reports in several design magazines and “El País Semanal”.
She’s author of the book “Children Only” published in English, Italian and Spanish, on objects and spaces for children.


MANEL MOLINA
(Barcelona, 1963)

Studied Interior and Industrial Design at the Barcelona’s EINA design school.
From 1985 to 1989, he worked with Miquel Milà and on his own account, in the fields of interior design and renovation, as well as stands, temporary fixtures and industrial design.



The partnership is currently working for firms in Spain, Germany and Italy, most notably on furniture projects for companies such as Andreu World, Arper, Arruti, Bellato, Casamilano, Concepto Casa, Davis, Dona, Emmebi, Foscarini, Halifax, Metalarte, Perobell, Prenatal, Santa & Cole, Segis, Sellex, Sunroller, Tacchini, Thonet, Tisettanta, Verzelloni, Vibia, etc.

They also develop interior design, packaging design, product design, consultancy and art direction projects. In addition, partnership has had teaching commitments with two of Barcelona’s universities and has given seminaries in many Spanish Universities.

The partnership has received numerous awards and special mentions, both in Spain and abroad, for its work, including the Spanish National Design Award (1999), ADI-FAD Deltas Gold and Silver, FIM National Furniture Design Competition, Best Pack Gold, Catas Award, Neocon Best, AEDP First Prize, etc.

It has held both individual and joint exhibitions in Barcelona, Cologne, Chicago, Stockholm, Helsinki, Lisbon, London, Louisiana, Madrid, Malmö, Milan, New York, Paris and Tokyo. Its designs are featured regularly in Spanish and international trade magazines.
