After initiating his professional activity in his country of origin, he moved to Spain in 1975, where he adopted Spanish nationality.

Established in Barcelona since 1977, Jorge Pensi was part of the Group Berenguer, collaborating with Alberto Liévore until 1984.

In 1985 he founded his own studio specialized in furniture design, lighting, visual imagery of products and assemblages for different types of events.

His main collaborators have been: since 1987 Diego Slemenson, since 1995 Constanze Schütz, and since 1999 Roman Proubasta.
Jorge Pensi also collaborates with his wife, Carme Casares in graphic design projects, and since 1996 with Eduardo Campoamor for architecture and interior design projects.

He has worked for the following Spanish companies: Akaba, Amat, Andreu World, Arruti, B.Lux,Coinma, Disform, Do+Ce, IBM, Kron, Mecrimar, Niessen, ON Design, Perobell, Punt Mobles, RS, Santa & Cole, SEAT Design Club, SIDI, Soko Ib‚rica, Uraldi, Zurich Insurance Co.

Since 1989 he has frequently collaborated with companies from Italy (Cassina, Ciatti, Driade, etc.), from Germany (Kusch+Co, Thonet,etc.), from Finland (Inno Interior , Museum Alvar Aalto, etc.), from the United States (Knoll International and Kron) and from Argentina, Canada, Korea, France, Portugal and Singapore.

His best known works include the products and the image of the Perobell company since 1977, the design of the SIDI (Salón internacional de Diseño para el Habitat) ON Diseño 1984, the Paris table and the Toledo chair for Amat (1986-1988), the lamps and lighting programs designed for B.Lux, from 1984 until today, the program Gorka for Akaba (1993), the Hola series for Kusch+Co (1995), the Glassbox showcases for Disform (1995), the Temps chair for Punt Mobles (1997), the Artico and Duna collections for Cassina (1998), the Gimlet bar stool (1998) and the Viena Collection (1999) for Mobles 114.

In 1989, the Provincial Association of Furniture Retailers recognized his professional contribution, and in 1997 he was rewarded for his professional career with the National Design Prize, granted by the Ministry of Industry and the BCD (Barcelona Design Center)

Products designed by Jorge Pensi have received numerous prizes and distinctions all over the world.
From among them we emphasize the Toledo and Hola chairs, produced by Amat and Kusch+Co, respectively.
Other awards have saluted the following products: Suite Palace armchair and Glassbox showcase for Disform, Soko fruit bowl, Lauro collection for Kron USA, Gorka series for Akaba, Maga chair for Crassevig, Capa series for Kusch+Co, the Regina, Olympia, Marie and Bluebird lamps for B.Lux, and the Sankai chairs for Andreu World.
