In 1967, Josep Lluscà studied Industrial Design at the Eina School in Barcelona.

He opened his professional studio in Barcelona in 1972. He has been Vice?President of ADI/FAD, member of the Design Committee of the Catalan Autonomous Government (Generalitat), at the moment it is member of the Advisory Council of the BCD (Barcelona Center of Design) and he is professor of Industrial Design and member of the Governing Committee of the Product Design Department of the Eina School in Barcelona.

He has given seminars and lectures at the Elisava School in Barcelona, the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo in Santander, at the BCD Foundation in Barcelona, at the London Design Museum, at the Dutch Form Foundation in Amsterdam, at the International Design Centre of Montreal, at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre in Bangkok, at the Higher School of Business Administration and Management (ESADE), at the Institute of Higher Business Studies (IESE) in Barcelona, at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, in Chile and at the Universidad Politecnica de Valencia, in Valencia, in the Forum of Design in the mark of the International Fair Expoconsumo 98, Tokyo and in Sao Bento, Brazil.


He has been awarded with prestigious design prizes on many occasions such as:

"Premio Nacional de Diseño", delivered by H.M King Juan Carlos I.
1973
"Span Pack", delivered by the Instituto Nacional de Envases y Embalajes, for the design of the packaging for dishes set "Duralex 2000".
1974
"Delta de Oro", for his table "Grulla", Barcelona.
1978
"Premio Laus", for the corporative image of the company Blauet, Barcelona
1979
"Premio Laus", for the design of a collection of patterned stuffs of Blauet, Barcelona.
1986
"Delta de Plata", of ADI-FAD for his lamp "Anade"., Barcelona

"Delta de Plata",of ADI-FAD for the pressure cooker "Splendid", Barcelona.

Several publications - catalogues and magazine - such as Abitare, Blueprint, Design, Domus, Modo, Intramuros, ID, MD, etc. - and specialised books such as Nuevo Diseño Español, International Design Yearbook, Spanish Design and Architecture, or Product Design have included studies and reviews regarding his work. Furthermore, two monographic books have been published on this subject: Josep Lluscà by the Gustavo Gili Publishing House in 1991 and Matèria i forma del disseny by the Department of Industry and Energy of the Generalitat de Catalunya in 1993.

His work is included in the permanent collections of museums throughout the world and has been displayed in several international exhibitions of Design in: Amsterdam, Bangkok, Frankfurt, Lisboa, London, Milan, Montreal, New York, Paris, Santiago de Chile, Tokyo, etc. such as the following:
