Levêque/Rudant

Six years have gone by since we decided to work together so as to benefit from our complementarity and pool our respective skills in the form of an exchange of thought as the basis for an original approach. While our professional activities are turned towards architecture, interior design and visual communication by volumes, we would like to elaborate a personal and theoretical approach to projects. The experimental studies born of our dialogue have given rise to a number of products. We received a VIA Permanent Call award for our cardboard furniture in 1993, following which our interests centred on sofas. In line with our ethic, we began by looking at this theme in a theoretical manner in manifesto projects that questioned the relationship between the sofa and the use people make of it. The first chapter in the history of our association has enabled us to show our capacity to integrate the industrial process and to test the reality of objectives that we set ourselves, namely to initiate theoretical research as a preamble to found the pertinence of all projects. Today we are extending this objective with a study on storage entitled ’Open/Shut’.
